Taskmaster star Phil Ellis is coming to Southwold! Joining him are Live at the Apollo favourite Ria Lina, comedy legend Bob Mills and the brilliant Ash Frith. Four fantastic comedians, four distinctive styles and a Friday night well worth getting your friends together for!
PHIL ELLIS
Star of Channel 4’s Taskmaster, Phil Ellis brings his gloriously unpredictable comedy to Southwold. Also seen on The Russell Howard Hour and Roast Battle, Phil is an Edinburgh Comedy Awards Panel Prize winner and Best Show nominee. He also co-wrote and starred in three series of his own BBC Radio 4 sitcom, Phil Ellis Is Trying. Expect inventive stand-up, inspired silliness and the wonderfully offbeat humour that made him a Taskmaster fan favourite.
RIA LINA
As seen on Live at the Apollo, Have I Got News for You, QI and Mock the Week, Ria Lina is a formidable comedy talent. She has both performed on and hosted Live at the Apollo, and joined Alexander Armstrong as co-host of Pointless. With a PhD in virology and a wickedly mischievous streak, Ria combines sharp intelligence with fearless observations and infectious energy.
“Fearless, provocative, and very funny” — The Scotsman.
BOB MILLS
A true British comedy original, Bob Mills is the star of cult television favourite In Bed with Medinner and host of Win, Lose or Draw. A familiar voice on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Fighting Talk, his television appearances also include Have I Got News for You and Never Mind the Buzzcocks. With more than four decades on the comedy circuit, Bob brings wonderfully dry wit, irreverent observations and the assured delivery of a master storyteller.
ASH FRITH
An accomplished comedian and compere, Ash Frith has supported Jason Monford, Russell Kane and Terry Alderton on tour shows and appeared in the West End show Cornucopia, hosted by The Boy With Tape on His Face. His comedy-club credentials include a stint as resident MC at Outside the Box, sharing bills with the likes of Omid Djalili and Jarred Christmas.
“I was Frithing at the mouth at his brilliance!” — Russell Kane.
