ROWAN PIERCE RECITAL

An afternoon recital with renowned soprano ROWAN PIERCE accompanied by HARRY SEVER

We are delighted to welcome to Southwold Arts Centre the multi-prize winning soprano Rowan Pierce, for a wonderful programme of songs including Mendelssohn, Grieg, Stanford, Quilter, Coates and Schumann. Some of the prizes awarded to Rowan include Britten Pears Young Artist, Samling Artist, Harewood Artist at English National Opera; winner of the Schubert Society Singer Prize, the Van Someren Godfrey Prize, the President’s Award at the RCM. Rowan has performed at venues around the world, including the Wigmore Hall, Glyndebourne and the Royal Opera House. She made her Proms debut in 2017, and returned in 2019 and 2023. Although Rowan has been much acclaimed for her interpretation of Baroque and Early music, she has also been applauded for her performance of a wider repertoire, as her discography demonstrates. She was also the voice of the singer Siena Rosso in Bridgerton! Rowan is accompanied by BBC Music Magazine’s ‘Rising
Star’ conductor, Harry Sever. In recent seasons, Harry has worked with Scottish Opera, London Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Britten Sinfonia at Sadler’s Wells.

“Pierce’s voice is delicious: clear, strong, supple, with sparkling top notes and a warm, textured middle and low register...”
BBC Music Magazine, 2019.
