SOUTHWOLD ARTS FESTIVAL ~ Young Musicians’ Showcase - Alex Booty – Piano Recital

Having been playing piano since age 7 Alex achieved an ARSM diploma in April 2022. He has been a member of Aldeburgh Young Musicians since 2017 where he has acquired a range of experiences from playing in orchestras and chamber groups to jazz bands, songwriting and contemporary music. It has also allowed him to work with professional musicians from around the world, collaborating with like-minded young people and workshop a wide variety of musical cultures.

Alex studies with Katherine Walter BA (Hons) LRAM, and in 2024 won the award for Most Promising Pianist at the Suffolk Festival of Performing Arts. In his spare time, Alex likes to write short plays. In addition to Music, Alex is studying French and History A Level at Jane Austen College Sixth Form in Norwich. This September, he will go to the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester to start his undergraduate studies.
