Annie Garthwaite gave up a thirty-year career in international business to write the story she has always wanted to tell – the story of the women of the Wars of the Roses. Her debut novel Cecily was published by Penguin in 2021, followed by The King’s Mother this July. Cecily was named 'Top Pick' by The Times and Sunday Times, a 'Best Book of 2021' by independent bookshops and Waterstones, and has recently been optioned for TV. The King's Mother, was named ‘Book of the Month’ by The Times on publication.
